Rapinoe was one of the top goalscorers in the US as a freshman. Her sophomore season, however, ended prematurely due to the tear in her ACL. The same injury ended her 2007 season after just two games. Rapinoe who had recovered from her injury in 2007, helped Pilots record a 20-0 mark.

The initial six to 5 years of her young existence were spent living in Boring which is a town located in Oregon where she lived with her family. The mother of the family suffered from an allergy to bees. The family didn't manage their bee farm for long since her parents divorced and they resided in Montana and then Seattle for a short amount of time as her mother frequently changed jobs. Maria was able to move together with her parents to Minnesota and was a student at Apple Valley High School. Early beginnings and career After having completed her studies, she was admitted to the Juilliard School in New York where she studied acting. where she lived her lifelong dream was to be part of a Broadway musical.
